Exploring sustainability in the Indian context

New online interdisciplinary course run by Azim Premji University, and co-led by PECS SC member Harini Nagendra.

This 5 week course provides an integrated introduction to what sustainability means in the context of a country like India, with its social, environmental and economic challenges that need to be addressed simultaneously. The course is designed for students and practitioners seeking an integrated and multi-disciplinary understanding of sustainability both in theory and practice.

WHAT IS PECS

The Program on Ecosystem Change and Society (PECS), is a new initiative jointly sponsored by ICSU and UNESCO. It aims to integrate research on the stewardship of social–ecological system and the relationships among natural capital, human wellbeing, livelihoods, inequality and poverty.
