Landscape Futures

Landscape Futures will implement a transdisciplinary research agenda to foster sustainable development in Eastern Europe, with particular emphasis on ancient agricultural landscapes in Central Romania.

Key features

The research agenda of Landscape Futures involves natural scientists, social scientists and regional stakeholders. Using a social-ecological approach, the goals are to understand the drivers of land use change (including social and economic challenges), and the possible consequences for biodiversity and ecosystem services. The project seeks to assist regional stakeholders and decision-makers by providing them with useful information regarding possible scenarios of how the future may unfold.
